#Milifandom: The day Twitter became Ed Miliband af

Wednesday, 22 April 2015

So something completely and utterly bizarre happened on Twitter last night.

As some of you may know it's roughly two weeks until the UK has it's General Election and while I will spare most of you all the details, it seems as though 'Election Fever' has spread throughout the 'web-sphere' as Gordon Brown would say.

Move over Harry Styles! There's a new heartthrob in town...Ed Miliband. Yep, that's right. Red Ed aka Mr. Hell Yes I'm Tough Enough has got his own fandom. Dubbed the #Milifandom on Twitter, this group of teenage girls are swooning over the Labour leader and have even made flower crown edits of him. (See right)

Out of all the fandoms I've seen on the internet, a collective of Ed Miliband lovers is the last thing I'd ever thought would exist. So imagine my surprise to wake up and see that everyone is suddenly Ed Miliband af.

The #Milifandom is currently the UK's top trending topic and Ed himself has thanked the fandom's founder for her support.

It also inspired some Conservative voters to start a #Cameronettes fandom. Although, unfortunately for poor Dave that hasn't quite taken off.

So, what do you think of the #Milifandom and has the new bae on the block inspired you to vote Labour?

In politics related other news, Buzzfeed recently published a hilarious article featuring politicians alongside Taylor Swift lyrics that was brought to my attention by my friend Charlotte.

As T-Swizzle is my number one, I thought I would post some of my favourites. You can view the whole nineteen pictures here.

UK Politicians and Taylor Swift lyrics - What could be more beautiful?

Have a great day!
Until next time,
