Samantha, 23, PR & Communications girl, activist and occasional journalist.
Currently working as a PR Executive, I have experience both agency and in-house across a range of clients within; FMCG, publishing, tech, lifestyle, entertainment and news media.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me sipping espresso martinis and listening to Taylor Swift on repeat.
I’ve always been passionate about literature and writing since I was a toddler. In 2014, I started this blog as a space to share my thoughts on what I was currently reading. A hobby born out of boredom in the evenings after school has now allowed me to branch out and explore everything from general lifestyle stories to beauty and travel and I’ve had the chance to partner up with some amazing publishers and brands over the years.
This blog has also served as a vital starting point for instilling confidence in myself. After being sexually assaulted whilst studying in Bristol, I was shocked to discover how inadequate the current reporting and investigating procedures are at universities. At the moment, it is not compulsory for higher education institutions to implement a specific policy to deal with allegations of sexual assault and the procedures that are in place purposefully shut out the victim and protect the perpetrator. I am proud to be working alongside fellow survivors who have formed SSCSP to call for mandated sexual assault policies in the UK higher education system. The campaign has received extensive press coverage.
