» If you’d like to send me an ARC/copy of your book
Please have a read of my review policy first and then send an e-mail over to samkilfordblog [at] gmail [dot] com. Include the subject ‘Review Request’ and tell me as much as possible about your novel!
Physical copies of novel are preferred as I like to take pictures of the book for my review. However, I do consider virtual copies via e-mail from time to time. Please note that I am only able to accept PDF format for virtual review copies.
All reviews I make are reflective of my own honest opinion.
***Right now, I’m looking to feature books penned by female authors/authors who identify as female as well as works with either female-driven plots or diverse storylines/characters. I’m also open to interviewing female authors/diverse authors about their work. Please do get in touch with me if that sounds like you/your book! You can find out more about the Literary Women project here. ***
» Have I read [insert book here] / Can I review [insert book here]?
You can check what I have/haven’t read by using the search tool.
If there’s a certain book that I haven’t read that you’d really like me to feature on the blog, do drop me a message on either of my social media accounts or recommend me it through GoodReads and I’ll consider it.
» Blog tours and giveaways
I’m always eager to participate in blog tours and giveaways! Feel free to contact me via e-mail in order to arrange anything.
» Sponsorship or product/business advertisement
Please contact me via my e-mail with as much detail you can about your shop, business or product and we can discuss the type of promotion you’d like and the cost.
» If your review is taking longer than anticipated
Here’s where I have to tell you that it’s not you, it’s definitely me.
I go through really bad reading slumps. I don’t know really know how to explain it. Sometimes I just really can’t get in the mood reading and it’s frustrating for me too. By all means if you feel like it’s been months then please follow up with me. Chances are that me and books have fallen out of love for a bit, but it could be that I’m focusing on other writing/career ventures too and haven’t got round to it yet. Right now, I’m knuckling down for exam season while focusing on professional adventures outside of studies so it may take me a while to get round to reading your book and I tend to prioritise physical copies of novels sent to me via post. So, if you do have a set time frame you’d like the review to be completed by then please let me know beforehand in the e-mail request.
» Images featured on the blog
Most of the photos I feature are taken by me. For example, the pictures of physical book copies in my reviews and the photos included in my personal or travel posts were either snapped by myself or immediate family members unless stated otherwise. Sometimes I work with photographer friends and you will find all their credentials listed somewhere alongside those images. Please do not repost any of these without permission.
One of the reasons I love physical copies as opposed to e-books is getting to take rather aesthetically pleasing pictures with them – normally featuring a nice bunch of flowers! If you’d like to use one of the images used in any post about books/travel/etc, then please send an e-mail my way!
If I use an image from elsewhere, I do try and give credit where possible. If you see your image being used here without the correct credentials, then please contact me to resolve it and I will either take it down or add the source.
» Book Recommendations
I’d be happy to recommend you some books! Get in touch with me via any of my social media accounts and let me know which books you’ve previously read that you love or what kinds of genres you like.
» Where I buy books
Most of my book shopping is done online these days – I know, for shame! Alas, it can be cheaper than going into a bookstore and there’s the bonus of purchasing in your pyjamas. Amazon is great for buying books in bulk, but if I’m fussy and would like a particular cover (for the aesthetic – which is what I believe the kids say) then Book Depository is where I go!
