FAQ

OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA
You can find me on Twitter, Instagram and GoodReads.
Who takes your pictures?

Where possible, I mention the different pro photographers I work with alongside the specific shots by them in my posts. The particular shot from this page is by Morgane Maurice who is fabulous!

All other photos are taken by me, friends or family members who are handy with a camera.

HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?

I use Lightroom for most of the images on this blog.

For pictures from shoots, the editing is usually done by the photographer I worked with. Every single photographer has their own distinct style and their credentials should be listed alongside the shots if you want to reach out and ask them about editing directly.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions around a particular shoot or photo.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BOOKS?

I have ‘favourites’ shelves on GoodReads and The Storygraph that you can peruse. To name a few;

  • Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
  • Rouge by Mona Awad
  • The Bloody Chamber & Other Stories by Angela Carter
  • Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang
  • All’s Well by Mona Awad
  • The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood
  • The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
  • The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford
  • Fantomina or, Love in a Maze by Eliza Haywood
  • The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
  • If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
  • The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters
CAN YOU RECOMMEND RESOURCES FOR SA SURVIVORS / WHAT ORGANISATIONS CAN I SUPPORT?

Experiences of different resources and services can vary from individual to individual. I always recommend being mindful that experiences of a service largely depend on who takes your call.

For those in Bristol, I did use The Bridge and SARSAS‘ ISVA service so these are potential starting points to explore.

In terms of organisations, perhaps take a look at The 1752 Group, Solace Women’s Aid, Do Better Academia and Rape Crisis England and Wales.

PLEASE CAN I COVER / MENTION / REFERENCE YOUR SA STORY?

I’m open to being approached about press opportunities, speaking engagements, panels, or webinars relating to sexual violence in higher education, so do feel free to get in touch.

I assess all requests on a case-by-case basis, depending on a number of factors including my availability and the suitability of the project, so please include as much detail as possible in your enquiry.

Given the sensitive nature of this work, I ask that my story is not repurposed if I’m unavailable or choose to decline involvement. Unless you have my explicit written permission and we have discussed the project directly, I do not consent to my experience being referenced, covered, or adapted in any media or content I have not been expressly involved in.

CAN I SEND YOU MY BOOK?

Absolutely! I regularly work with major UK and US publishers, but I’m also very happy to hear from independent and self-published authors too.

Before getting in touch, please have a look at my Review Policy, and make sure to include as much detail as you can about your book.

While I do my best to say yes where I can, I’m not able to take on every request, and I also reserve the right not to review a book. Review timelines can vary throughout the year, so if you’re working to a specific deadline or planning a launch, please do let me know in advance and I’ll see what’s possible.

CAN WE COLLABORATE ON NON-BOOK RELATED CONTENT? DO YOU DO PAID/SPONSORED CONTENT?

For all other collaborations, please feel free to reach out and we can chat through what you have in mind.

I can’t guarantee that gifted products will be featured in posts or reviews. That said, I’m always open to hearing ideas and seeing if something feels like a good fit!
